Nonlinear Locator Lornet

The portable Lornet semiconductor element detector is designed to search for and detect electronic devices, both active and inactive.

Description

The detector’s operation is based on the property of semiconductor elements to re-radiate the second and third harmonics when irradiated by a probing microwave signal. Lornet allows analyzing the responses of irradiated objects based on both the second and third harmonics of the probing signal, enabling reliable identification of electronic devices and natural oxide semiconductors.

Lornet automatically finds the best interference-free reception frequency channel, allowing operation even in complex electromagnetic environments. The frequency tuning algorithm used in Lornet automatically selects a probing signal frequency such that the interference level in the reception channel of its 2nd harmonic is minimal.

The applied digital processing of the demodulated signal achieves maximum sensitivity.

The use of two types of emitted signals (continuous carrier wave and pulsed carrier frequency modulation) in the detector allows combining long detection range with confident identification of detected devices. The presence of an automatic output power regulation mode significantly facilitates the operator’s work.

Lornet can simultaneously indicate the signal levels of the second and third harmonics on an LED display. Furthermore, the level of the second and third harmonics can be assessed audibly by the frequency of clicks reproduced through the built-in speaker or wireless headphones. The presence of a detector for the envelope of the re-radiated microwave signal allows listening to active electronic devices that contain an acoustic transducer.
